Alexander Wang is an American fashion designer born to Taiwanese-American parents in San Francisco. He moved to New York at the age of 18 to attend the famous Parson’s school of design but he dropped out after a year to start a label of his own. He launched his first collection in 2015, represented by six unisex silhouettes of cashmere knits. Two years after the launch, the Alexander Wang line evolved into full women’s wear and made it to the runway for autumn/ winter 2007. He was declared the winner of the CFDA/ Vogue fashion fund award, apart from that he received many awards for haute couture at the age of 23.
Before that Wang worked as an intern with Derek lamb. Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors. He also collaborated with vogue and GQ, in his youth, and made his name in the fashion culture. Known as one of the most characteristic young designers Alexander Wang draws inspiration from the urban cityscape and sportswear, and fashion grunge cool creativity refined via statement accessories and sleek tailoring. Also known for breaking stereotypes but at the same time remaining calm. The designer’s creation has some distinctive features like:
